December 14th, 2010 10 – 11:30 am, debrief at KFC till 12:30pm.
Li Fangping went in to see Wu Yuren again today, and he said that Wu is a lot more ‘calm’ than he was last week. He asked about the evidence of the original video tape which still has not been viewed. LFP will call the court to ask them about the video evidence and then if they say it is unavailable, then will ask that at least the court/prosecution offer up an explanation as to why.
The court date for the re-opening of the trial is thought to be before the end of December, and the sentencing to come before the end of January, 2011. Sentence still looking at 12 months, and Li instructed Dawu to consider that, although he wants out yesterday, that he prepare for up to 12 more months. Wu says he has considered that.
Li Fangping also offered up a great idea, which is not new as many families and friends start massive ‘post card’ writing campaigns around the holidays. So, here are the details:
Christmas Postcard Campaign
– choose a card, write Wu Yuren’s name on it, and sign your name or an anonymous name (up to you), the point is to let the guards/officials know that many of Wu’s friends, family, acquaintances are thinking of Wu and that he has not been forgotten, and send to:
Beijing City, Chaoyang District, Chaoyang Criminal Detention Center, Chaoyang Beilu #29, Attention: WU Yuren
Thank you for your participation!
